National Domain Registry

We maintain the national .pl domain registry, enabling users to register their websites in the .pl domain as well as other functional and regional domains. Websites can be registered via registrars who joined our Partnership Programme in December 2002.

In 2003, we were one of the first registrars to roll out a fully automated registry system based on a modified version of EPP.

In July 2013, we also became responsible for the .gov.pl domain, taking over from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Only authorised subjects can use the gov.pl domain, and can only do so via NASK.

We are a member of CENTR (Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries) and work closely with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which coordinates the functioning of the global Internet, as well as the ccNSO (country code Names Supporting Organisation), which is a part of ICANN comprising national registries.
