On December 28, 2023, by decision of the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers – Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, the Director of NASK-PIB was changed. Wojciech Pawlak was replaced by Radosław Nielek.
New Director is an engineer, PhD in technical sciences in the discipline of computer science, professor in the Department of Computer Networks at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology, graduate of Szczecin University of Technology, Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology and postgraduate studies at Warsaw University. He also has held research internships at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Technische Universitaet Berlin.
Radosław Nielek is the author of nearly 100 scientific articles on artificial intelligence, information reliability, machine learning, automatic text analysis and cyber security published in prestigious international journals and conference papers. He was the principal consultant and co-author of the "Strategy for Information Society Development of the Silesian Voivodeship 2020+" and permanent advisor to the Digitalisation, Innovation and Emerging Technologies Committee of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in 2012-2015 and 2020-2023. He served as the R&D manager of research projects co-financed under Fast Track and Horizon 2020.
