The paper presents a biometric smart card that supports on-card matching. The card supports two- or three-factor verification of the card holder (biometrics, smart card and optionally password or PIN). We use a novel iris coding based on Zak-Gabor transform, which may adapt to image quality. Basic properties of the proposed coding are presented in the paper. The biometric smart card is an element of Iris Recognition System, which also includes eye aliveness detection. The system, evaluated with a proprietary database of iris images, shows very favorable results. 1.
