NASK Deputy Director, Director for Cybersecurity and Innovation
He has been working in the National Research Institute of NASK since 1992. Currently, as Deputy Director for Cyber Security and Innovation. In 2017-2018 he was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Digitisation responsible for the area of cybersecurity.
He is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2004, he has represented Poland on the Management Board of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, and later on its Executive Board (since 2013), before being appointed Vice President of the ENISA Management Board in 2016. In 1996, he established Poland's first team for responding to online threats – the CERT Poland.
Between 1997 and 1999, he represented NASK on FIRST, an international forum for incident response teams. He is also the originator of the annual SECURE conference – the first conference in Poland focusing on ICT security. As Technical Director at NASK, he has initiated and supervised the development of new generations of the Internet, as well as such innovative security projects as ARAKIS and ARAKIS.GOV.
Krzysztof Silicki is an author of articles published in Poland and abroad concerning the security of information and communication networks, and is also the co-author of the ENISA strategy and action plan on network and information security. At the Ministry of Digital Affairs, he directed the process of developing the Act on the national cybersecurity system. He participates in numerous European and Polish projects and initiatives as an expert on network and information security.
